Spiritual Emphasis Week: Anger

Dear Families,

We have had a wonderful Spiritual Emphasis Week! Mrs. Hinkle has taught us powerful life lessons. Today we learned what God says to us when we feel angry.

Mrs. Hinkle explained that there are two kinds of anger:

1. Good (righteous) anger

2. Bad (unrighteous) anger

With the help of her friend, Chanice, Mrs. Hinkle shared that good anger is when we see sin happening and we respond in a good way rather than responding in a sinful way.

Isaiah 53:3 says, "He was despised and rejected - a man of sorrows, acquainted with deepest grief. We turned our backs on him and looked the other way. He was despised and we did not care." Jesus felt awful when these things happened to him. He understands when we feel angry and hurt. He understands because he was hurt too.

What does God say to us when we are feeling angry? "I understand."

I pray your children have not only enjoyed this special week, but have also grown closer in their relationship with the Lord by understanding that He wants us to talk to Him about the way we feel.
